Aeration is a revitalizing technique that involves removing small cores of soil from your lawn to allow air, moisture, and fertilizer to get down into the root zone of your lawn. It is a means of invigorating your lawn and allows the soil to produce the required nutrients for a healthier lawn. When combined with over seeding, new seed can be added to the soil to replace the grass that may have already died off.
It is recommended that core aeration be done twice a year: once in the fall and once in the spring. During the course of the year, de-thatching may be necessary as well.
